lectures, socials and the annual ball, have management
or accounting aspirations, or just want to spread your
artistic talent, then come along to the handover meeting
on Monday 4th October @ 1PM in Lecture Theatre 3.

Designing through Time and Space:
the story of an international urban design project

An illustrated exploration of the story of events and decisions involved in winning and completing a major urban design competition over a period of two years. How we organised a large design team involving ten specialisms based in four countries and across several time zones. How we selected the team and learned to work together creatively while being under the microscope of political supervision trying to involve all the stakeholders. Just what is urban design anyway? How the design evolved and finished and what happens next.

SUAS Proudly Announces the SUAS BALL 2010

As I’m sure you will all be aware by now this year’s theme is CARNIVAL on Tuesday 20th April 2010.

The Ball Launches Next Week on Tuesday 16th February from 12:30pm – 2:30pm at the Centenary Bar.

Come down and join us to buy a ticket to YOUR SUAS BALL, all UNDERGRAD’s, MArch, POSTGRAD’s, PHD, and STAFF are welcome to this whole school night of entertainment! Tickets are on sale at £36 for SUAS members & £41 for NON SUAS. For this we promise a night of Carnival fun and frolics, to make this your SUAS ball to remember!

-	A bucks fizz drinks reception will await you at the fantastic CUTLERS HALL, with Carnival performers entertaining you on arrival.
-	Followed by a 3 course gourmet dinner with wine in the breathtaking Old Main Hall – whilst dining the entertainment continues with a live band to play you through your dinner.
-	Next the DJ takes to the stage to continue your night of carnival frivolity.
-	And finally for those wanting to carry on the carnival spirit an after party to round up the night.

As this is the legendary SUAS Ball we encourage fancy dress – of course this is optional for those who feel they want be a bit more demure.

Juan will show a varied range of projects he has developed trough his professional and academic career varying in sizes, topologies and techniques. The presentation will cover the field between small and large scale projects, while addressing the connection between new architectural technologies and local basic construction methods.

Juan graduated as an Industrial Designer from UCV School of Architecture and Design, Chile 1997. In 2006 he obtained a Master in Architecture from AA School of Architecture, AA EmTech MArch (Dist).
